Pelosi Statement on Appointment of Congresswoman Kathy Castor to the Energy and Commerce Committee

Washington, D.C. - Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the appointment of Congresswoman Kathy Castor to the House Energy and Commerce Committee:

"Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee fight day in and day out to create jobs and strengthen our middle class.  And Congresswoman Kathy Castor will add a strong, committed voice to advancing our core goals, as a party and as a nation: promoting commerce, preserving public health, pursuing a clean energy future, and investing in technologies that will drive our economic growth.

"Congresswoman Castor is no stranger to the Energy and Commerce Committee.  Serving on this panel in the last Congress, she played a key role in drafting comprehensive health insurance and on behalf of consumer rights and environmental protections.
