Pelosi Statement on Death of Former Senator Ted Stevens

Washington, D.C. - Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the passing of former Senator Ted Stevens, who died in a tragic plane crash in southwestern Alaska:

"The thoughts and prayers of the entire Congress rest with the family, friends, and loved ones of Senator Ted Stevens.  He was a proud public servant, dedicated to his family and committed to his community.  In the Senate, he always stood up for the state of Alaska.

"I hope it is a comfort to Senator Stevens' wife, children, and grandchildren, and to the families of all who perished in today's tragedy, that so many share in their grief at this sad time."
