Pelosi Statement on Extending Internet Tax Moratorium
October 30, 2007
Washington, D.C.- Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today on the House voting 402 to 0 to approve a seven-year extension of the Internet tax moratorium:
'Unlike the Republican-controlled Congress, which allowed the moratorium on taxes on Internet access to expire for more than a year, the Democratic Congress voted today to extend the moratorium on time, ahead of the expiration date of November 1. The seven-year extension represents the longest extension for this moratorium.
'I urge the President to sign the bill immediately, so Americans will not face a toll road when they get on the information superhighway.'
