Pelosi Statement on House Passage of Continuing Resolution

September 26, 2007
Washington, D.C. - Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today on House passage of a continuing resolution to fund the government through November 16:

'The House has passed - by bipartisan majorities - all of the appropriations bills needed to meet America's critical domestic and national security priorities, and Democrats have done so within a fiscally responsible, balanced budget plan.

'House Democrats encourage the President to work with us and the Senate to complete the appropriations process in a responsible and timely manner that invests in national security, education, health care, and the economic security of the American people.  This continuing resolution keeps the government fully functioning at the current levels while we complete the appropriations process in a fiscally responsible way.'
