Pelosi Statement on Bipartisan Delegation Visit to USCENTCOM and USSOCOM

MacDill Air Force Base, Florida – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today released the following statement after the bipartisan Congressional Delegation met with General Raymond A. Thomas III, Commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command; Kenneth S. Wilsbach, Acting Deputy Commander at United States Central Command; and SOCOM and CENTCOM operations team.

"Members of our delegation were pleased to have the opportunity to meet with General Raymond A. Thomas III, Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and Kenneth S. Wilsbach, Acting Deputy Commander at United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) who provided an update on USCENTCOM and USSOCOM operations and training and equipping initiatives.

"We appreciated the opportunity to meet with our top military commanders and discuss U.S. and allied operations to counter the threat of ISIS in Syria and Iraq, including recent successes and challenges.  In addition, the delegation was briefed on USCENTCOM activities in Afghanistan and Yemen.

"The delegation was grateful for the opportunity to thank the courageous women and men of USCENTCOM and USSOCOM for their professionalism, leadership and steadfast dedication to keeping America safe."
