Pelosi Statement on Departure of Congresswoman Janice Hahn

February 18, 2015
Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after Congresswoman Janice Hahn announced she will run for Los Angeles County Supervisor and not seek reelection to Congress:

"Janice Hahn has been a fearless and effective champion for her communities – fighting the hard battles for working people, for immigrant families, for greater justice and opportunity for everyone.

"Time and again, Congresswoman Hahn has reached across the aisle to expand investments in our infrastructure, to unleash the entrepreneurship of our small businesses, and to bolster the security of our homeland.  Her leadership as founder of the bipartisan Congressional PORTS Caucus has brought fresh attention to the critical importance of strong ports for a strong economy.

"She has carried her father's historic legacy of serviceforward into the Congress, and as she prepares to return to her beloved Los Angeles, Congresswoman Hahn leaves a proud and accomplished legacy of her own.  Her passion, persistence and pragmatism will be missed by friends and colleagues Democrat and Republican alike, and we wish her all the best in her next endeavor."
