Pelosi Statement on Flint Amendment

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on the Flint Amendment to the Water Resources bill that will be voted on in the House today:

"The bipartisan amendment on the floor today represents a real opportunity to send a message of hope to the people of Flint.

"I commend Congressman Dan Kildee for his determination and effectiveness in addressing the needs of his constituents.  The Senate WRDA bill passed with a strong bipartisan vote of 95 to 3 earlier this month.  I thank the Speaker for today's vote which will begin to narrow the gap between the House and Senate.

"I appreciate the commitment of the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Democratic Leader Harry Reid to ensure that the Senate language will prevail in the House-Senate conference."
