Pelosi Statement on Republicans’ Wrong Way National Security Agenda

"House Republicans' security agenda means nothing as long as they embrace the staggering recklessness of a GOP standard-bearer who has called for the U.S. to torture prisoners and murder the families of suspected terrorists.

"House Republicans want to hand control of our national security to a person who explodes at the slightest provocation.  They want to give the nuclear codes to a man who engages in textbook racism.  Republicans are choosing a dangerously reckless path for our nation.

"At the same time, House Republicans' insistence on their reckless gimmick in the defense budget means our troops on the battlefield will run out of funding in the middle of next year – bewildering our allies and emboldening our foes.  Republicans aren't offering a Better Way on national security, they're offering Donald Trump's Way."
