Pelosi Statement on Two-Year Anniversary of Benghazi Select Committee

"House Republicans have now wasted two years and $7 million in taxpayer funds on their Select Committee to Attack Hillary Clinton.  As Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy openly admitted, the Select Committee's entire purpose is not to find the truth, but to use taxpayer dollars to smear Secretary Clinton.

"The brazen partisan conduct of the Benghazi Committee is disrespectful of this tragedy and unworthy of the American people.  Instead of presenting the truth, Republicans have purposefully leaked incomplete and misleading testimony to serve their partisan narrative.  They have cut Democrats out of the process and abandoned any pretense of credibility.

"It is deeply disappointing to see Republicans spending millions of taxpayer dollars to warp the tragic deaths of brave Americans in Benghazi to serve such blatantly political ends.  I agree with Ranking Member Cummings, Republicans should release the full transcripts, end this outrageous partisan charade, and shut down the Committee."
