Pelosi Statement on Rescue of Captain Richard Phillips

Washington, DC. -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates this past Sunday.

"On behalf of the entire Congress, I offer congratulations to the brave U.S. Navy Seals and intrepid crew of the U.S.S. Bainbridge on their rescue of Captain Richard Phillips, who was being held hostage by Somali pirates.  Their actions are yet another example of the courageous service and enormous skill of the men and women of America's military.  Captain Phillips' actions throughout these dangerous days saved lives and he is to be commended for his bravery and commitment to the safety of his crew.  I offer him my best wishes and a safe return home to his loving family.
