Pelosi Statement on Senate Action on Economic Stimulus Bill

February 6, 2008
Washington, D.C. - Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement tonight following the Senate vote on the Finance Committee amendment to the stimulus bill:

'I remain hopeful that the Senate will send the House a stimulus bill this week that is timely, targeted and temporary so that we can complete action and deliver it to the President at the earliest date.

'The House is very receptive to additions to our bill which ensure that disabled veterans and additional seniors are eligible for recovery rebates, and which clarify the ineligibility of undocumented workers for any benefits under the bill.

'If the Senate version does not include these provisions, the House will quickly add them to any final legislation.'
