Poll: Immigration a Priority Across Party Lines
May 19, 2014
A new POLITICO bipartisan poll today reveals immigration reform overwhelmingly remains a top priority for voters across party lines:
- 78 percent of Democrats want immigration reform done;
- 71 percent of independents want immigration reform done; and
- 64 percent of Republicans want immigration reform done.
In fact, a conservative poll last week claimed the majority of Tea Party voters want immigration reform done this year. It's time for House Republicans and Speaker Boehner to stop ignoring the American people, end their empty rhetoric, and demonstrate their seriousness about investing in our nation's future.
