Some Poll Numbers for Congressional Republicans

New Washington Post/ABC and BSG/SKDK polls released this week reveal that the new GOP Congress will have to answer to the American people's priorities on immigration, the climate crisis, and campaign finance reform.  Take a look at some key findings:

  • ACTING TO COMBAT CLIMATE CRISIS:

o   Two-thirds of Americans believe climate pollution is occurring, and 61 percent of them believe it must be addressed instantly.

  • SUPPORTING PRESIDENT OBAMA'S EXECUTIVE ACTION:

o   52 percent of Americans approve of the President's efforts, including 58 percent of moderates, 64 percent of adults younger than 30, and an overwhelming 72 percent of Latinos; and to top it off,

o   69 percent of Americans call on Congress to pass bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform.

  • FIGHTING DARK MONEY IN POLITICS:

o   88 percent of Americans want an end to the influence of dark money in our elections, including 62 percent Democrats, and 52 percent Republicans, and 64 percent independents.
