President Obama & President Trump's First 40 Days: A Study in Contrast

In 2009, in the middle of the Great Recession which devastated lives and brought our economy to the brink of collapse, Congressional Democrats passed and President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act within weeks into the new Administration – creating or saving 4 million jobs.

Democrats accomplished even more in the first days:

  • The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act was signedinto law, requiring that millions of American women earn equal pay for equal work.
  • We reached a monumental achievement by passing SCHIP, which provided 11 million children with health care.

?Yet today, 40 days into his presidency, Trump and his? Administration are deflecting attention from their incompetence and inability to create jobs for hard-working Americans, as Leader Pelosi has rightfully said.  Instead  while Speaker Ryan and Congressional Republicans stand idly by  Trump is handing his Wall Street friends a big check, allowing Russia's grip on his Administration to endanger our security and our democracy, and threatening to Make America Sick Again:

On top of that, President Trump and his Administration are instilling fear in communities:

The list goes on.  It's no wonder President Trump's approval ratings are at record lows at the start of his Administration.  Americans demand to know where Trump's so-called jobs bill is; and they deserve better than outright, unprecedented assaults? ?from? their leaders.
