President Trump, Where are the Jobs You Promised?

On the day of his Inauguration, President Trump promised to create ­25 million new jobs in the U.S. with his ‘Buy American, Hire American' rule.  But five months into his presidency, hundreds of jobs that Trump promised to keep in America are moving to Mexico and China.

Axios: Carrier moving Trump jobs to Mexico

Carrier, the heating and air-conditioning manufacturer, is laying off more than 600 employees from its Indianapolis plant next month, the same plant Trump vowed to keep on American soil … Those manufacturing jobs will go to Mexico, where labor is significantly cheaper.

Salon: After Trump pressured Ford out of moving factory to Mexico, company decides to build the new Focus in China

In 2019, after production ends at the current factory in Michigan, the second-largest car company in America will move Ford Focus manufacturing to China.

So where are the jobs that President Trump promised the American people?  In addition to President Trump taking jobs away from American soil, Republicans still have not put forward a single piece of legislation to create good-paying jobs or raise the wages of hard-working Americans.  It's time for President Trump to stop the empty rhetoric and keep his promises to grow jobs and improve the lives of hard-working people across the country.
