The consequences of the president's lapse could be far-reaching. In addition to disrupting a vital flow of intelligence and possibly endangering agents on the ground, Mr. Trump has let the world know that he and his administration cannot be trusted with sensitive information.

The way to avoid this kind of fiasco would be to have a president who either understands what he's talking about or at least has the humility to listen to others about areas in which he is ignorant.
Trump is neither of those things. Instead, the United States has its first Dunning-Kruger effect administration, led by a president far too unsuited for high office to recognize his own unsuitability and do anything about it.

Trump's incompetence is now on full display. There is nothing left to do but demand the deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, appoint a special prosecutor to get to the bottom of Trump's involvement with Russia. His legitimacy has been fatally compromised though gross negligence and possibly foreign manipulation. The nation has a right to know just how much.

Even if Trump shared only minimal information that was considered highly classified, a number of experts said, it is a stark reminder of the lingering concerns many intelligence professionals have about entrusting sensitive national security information to a president who has dismissed their expertise and has no prior experience in government or the military.
The American people deserve to know the truth: What do the Russians have on President Trump financially, politically or personally? It's time for Trump and his Administration to set aside the recklessness and hypocrisy, and work to strengthen relationships with U.S. allies, instead of empowering our adversaries.
