Republicans: Perpetuating the Same Old Agenda, Ignoring Real Solutions

It happened.  Finally, Senate Republicans have come to the realization that the needs of working families are essential.  Unfortunately, though, America's hard-working families deserve more than new packaging on the same old GOP agenda.  Americans are left wondering:

• Does this so-called agenda of theirs increase access to paid sick days and expanded family and medical leave?
• Does their package promote affordable high quality child care?
• Why does their package fail to allow women employees experiencing pay discrimination based on gender to seek the same damages that employees experiencing pay discrimination based on race seek?
• Does their agenda provide Early Head Start and expanded preschool initiatives?
• Does it provide adequate tools to investigate wage discrimination in the workplace?

Instead of putting forward bills that undermine employee rights in the workplace and force one million people to lose their employer-provided health coverage, the GOP should back real solutions that help strengthen middle class families and small businesses and work with Democrats to foster economic growth in communities from coast to coast.
