RYAN TOWNHALL FACT CHECK: Speaker Ryan Fails to Give Straight Answer on Actions Following Russian Intervention in Election

At tonight's CNN Townhall, Speaker Ryan danced around the question about what Congress ought to do about the Russia meddling in our Democracy, and simply said "sanctions are called for" against Putin's Russia.  But Americans want more concrete action; they want to know the truth behind Russia's involvement:

Speaker Ryan: Republicans demanded answers into Secretary Clinton's life, wasting millions in taxpayer money on investigations that found no wrongdoing.  The American people deserve the peace of mind that an act of this magnitude never happens again.  That's why we must pass the Protecting Our Democracy Act to create an independent, bipartisan-appointed commission that will investigate what happened, find out how we were so vulnerable, and make recommendations to ensure it never happens again.  This isn't about politics.  It's not a re-litigation of the election.  It's about honoring our solemn duty to defend the sanctity of American democracy.
