Speaker Boehner & GOP Nowhere Near Removing #GOPshutdown Threat

There are only six legislative days until Speaker Boehner and Congressional Republicans shut down the federal government, once again, damaging our economy and destroying opportunities.  And the GOP has yet to provide a commonsense plan that works for hard-working Americans and removes this threat from the table:

House Republicans continued to evaluate their options on Planned Parenthood funding Thursday as the number of scheduled legislative days until a government shutdown shriveled to six.

"…we haven't made any decisions yet," Speaker John A. Boehner told reporters Thursday.

Funding for the federal government expires in just two weeks, and for now, the leadership in the Republican Congress have no idea how to prevent it.

If Boehner follows his members' orders, a damaging shutdown is inevitable…

House Republican leaders haven't proposed a way to avoid another government shutdown...

Several dozen conservative Republicans have been demanding that any spending bill halt funding to Planned Parenthood.

…hardline members of the House Freedom Caucus showed no signs of letting up in their effort to include in a continuing resolution a measure that would attempt to strip federal funding from Planned Parenthood.

That internal feud has increased the chances that Washington, for the second time in two years, could stumble into a shutdown of the federal government.

Chances of a government shutdown at the end of the month are growing as Republican leaders face mounting pressure from conservatives determined to use a must-pass spending bill as leverage in the fight over Planned Parenthood.

The plan hatched by the GOP leadership in Congress to appease abortion hardliners and avoid a government shutdown over Planned Parenthood funding shows little sign of working so far.

Here we go again. District residents, you know the drill.

...at this point, a government shutdown seems likely, according to experts.

There is...[an] immediate problem on the horizon.

...If no agreement is reached, federal agencies could be shuttered again — the second time in three years.

The clock is ticking, Mr. Speaker.
