Statement on President's Call to Extend Recovery Payment to Seniors, Veterans, People with Disabilities

Washington, D.C. - Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on President Obama's support for an additional $250 Economic Recovery Payment to seniors, veterans and people with disabilities:

"The Economic Recovery Payment in the Recovery Act added $250 to the bank accounts of some of the most vulnerable Americans.  It proved an effective way to offer stability and security to millions of Americans and a boost to our economy.

"We will work with President Obama and our Members to help seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities hit by the worst economy since the Great Depression."
