In the spirit of Throwback Thursday, we wanted to remind you of Speaker Boehner's lame lip service on immigration a year ago today:

In fact on that same day, POLITICO reported that top Republican Rep. Darrell Issa planned to introduce a so-called "immigration bill." [10/23/13]. What has happened since then?

  • Speaker Boehner shamelessly conceded to the callous demands of Speaker Senator Cruz, Anti-Immigrant Spokesman Rep. Steve King and extremists House Republicans;
  • The House GOP voted more than FIVE times to block bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform;
  • Rep. Darrell Issa, along with 32 House Republicans, urged President Obama to terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA);
  • The House GOPvotedrepeatedly to subject our nation's DREAMers to deportation.
