#TBT to Times House Republicans Said So-Called ACA Alternative Was Coming

Speaker Ryan and House Republicans voted yesterday for the 62nd time to undermine and/or dismantle the Affordable Care Act, threatening the health coverage of millions of Americans.  Speaker Ryan continues to promise that Republicans will have a so-called alternative to ACA.  We've heard the same, worn-out talking point before.

Below are some of the many times they've said a so-called replacement was imminent:

June 16, 2009 — House Republicans: "…we will provide you with a bill"

January 19, 2011 — Kevin McCarthy: "We'll start tomorrow with a replacement."

July 1, 2012 — Boehner on CBS' Face the Nation: "We're going take a common-sense…approach…"

July 10, 2012 — Rep. Jenkins: "…we must repeal the law and…replace it"

March 10, 2013 —  Paul Ryan on Fox News: "We're going to propose replacing Obamacare with…a health care system for everybody"

May 16, 2013 — Boehner in POLITICO: "I expect our conference in the coming weeks to have a discussion about Obamacare…and what the replacement legislation would look like."

As you have noticed, there have been plenty.  And as the New York Times noted yesterday: "Republicans in Congress have yet to offer a comprehensive replacement for the law."

When will they show their flawed plan to the American people?  Well, we have to "just wait" — as we have for over 2,100 days.
