Trump Heads to Wisconsin, Touting Policies to Hurt Wisconsinites

President Trump is headed to Wisconsin today to talk about ‘JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!'

But what we want to know is: WHERE ARE THE JOBS, JOBS, JOBS? Five months into the Trump Administration, Republicans still have not put forward a single piece of legislation to create good-paying jobs or raise the wages of hard-working Americans. Instead, Trump and House Republicans have pushed legislation to cut Wisconsin jobs, hurt the economy, and take away health insurance:

  • 412,600 Wisconsinites would lose their health insurance under Trumpcare.
  • Wisconsinites would pay $5,089 more in premiums on average under Trumpcare.
  • Trump's budget would cut $250 million from food stamps for Wisconsinites each year under Trump's budget.
  • Changes to the Children's Health Insurance Program in Trump's budget would cost Wisconsin over $100 million, and threaten eligibility for more than 5,000 children of middle class families enrolled in BadgerCare.
  • Nearly 2 million Wisconsinites participate in Medicaid funded programs, which are at risk from cuts in Trump's budget and Trumpcare. That includes about 500,000 children, 167,000 people with disabilities, and 65,000 seniors in nursing homes.

On the Trump Administration's so-called ‘Workforce Development Week,' President Trump should focus on putting forward legislation that actually creates jobs and improves the lives of hard-working Americans, not touting policies that are an assault on the lives of Wisconsinites.
