January 7, 2015
Gallup released key information earlier today regarding the Affordable Care Act: it's working and the uninsured rate has now sunk to a record low, 12.9 percent!
CNBC: Obamacare effect: Uninsured rate hits record low
MSNBC: Obamacare pushes uninsured rate to new lows
The Hill: Poll: Uninsured rate drops under ObamaCare
Chicago Sun Times: DATA: Uninsured rate sinking under Obamacare
Vox: One big way Obamacare is working, in one graph
Washington Examiner: Uninsured rate in U.S. drops to 12.9 percent
This great news, however, is at risk after CBO and Vox described the latest Republican destructive, ACA repeal bill pushed by Speaker Boehner, Chairman Ryan and House Republicans as:
- reducing "the number of people receiving employment-based coverage—by about 1 million people";
- …raising the nation's deficit by $53.2 billion;
- …increasing the number of uninsured – leaving many more Americans without quality, affordable coverage;
- …altering ACA "to only require employers to cover people who work 40 hours each week…"
