Will Speaker Boehner Ever Listen on Immigration Reform?
Congressman Aaron Schock: "Quite frankly, I think if a man or a woman likes their American job, wherever they were born, they should be able to keep that job…we need a clear path to citizenship for workers who are already here."Congressman Adam Kinzinger: "Through common-sense policies, we have the opportunity to grow our economy...we must work hard to come to an agreement on how to bring undocumented workers out of the shadows…"
Congressman John Shimkus: "I do support [immigration reform]…we have to address the 12 million undocumented immigrants who are already here by moving them legally into the workforce…"
Democrats agree and continue to #DemandAVote on H.R. 15, legislation that will decrease the nation's deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite families, and provide an earned pathway to citizenship.
Even former Republican Presidential candidate, Senator John McCain said yesterday that keeping undocumented citizens in the shadows of fear "is a stain to America's honor." But Speaker Boehner continues to perpetuate that stain; when will he ever listen to the American people, ignore the dark vein of intolerance caucus, and realize that the #TimeIsNow, more than ever, to reform our nation's broken immigration system?
