Health reform has been especially important to women--we often face higher health care costs than men and multiple other barriers to obtaining health insurance, including being denied coverage for such "pre-existing conditions" as pregnancy, having had a C-section, or being a victim of domestic violence.

Numbers To Know - The Affordable Care Act At Two Years

On March 23, 2010 President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law. In the nearly two years since, Americans are already seeing lower costs & better coverage:

86 million Americans, including both seniors in Medicare and Americans under age 65 in private plans, have received one or more free preventive services, such as check-ups and cancer screenings.

105 million Americans have had a lifetime limit on their coverage eliminated.
