“The House of Representatives has taken historic action to address the climate crisis and transition our country to a clean energy economy,” Speaker Pelosi said.

“The Defense Appropriations Act makes critical investments in the success, health, well-being, and training of our men and women in uniform. Our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines bear the burden of our security with courage, honor, and bravery."

“The work of this Congress began this year with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to create or save millions of jobs. And we will conclude the year with the Jobs for Main Street Act. Putting Americans back to work continues to be the number one priority of Democrats in Congress and of President Obama."

This week, the House will consider the Jobs for Main Street Act to create or save jobs here at home with targeted investments ($75 billion) for highways and transit, school renovation, hiring teachers, police, and firefighters, small business, job training and affordable housing -- key drivers of economic growth that have the most bang for the buck.

"It is with great enthusiasm that we present our Jobs for Main Street legislation which will be filed today and will be passed on the floor tomorrow. It is legislation that brings jobs to Main Street by increasing credit for small businesses, by rebuilding the infrastructure of America, by keeping police and fireman and teachers on the job."

“All Members of Congress, regardless of party, agree: a nuclear Iran is simply unacceptable. It is a threat to the region, to the United States, and to the world."

In an op-ed in today's Washington Post, House Republican Leader John Boehner claimed President Obama and Democrats in Congress have failed to jump-start our economy and create jobs.

Wrong, Mr. Boehner.
