Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the release of a declassified report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, mandated by the Congress, on the killing of U.S.-based journalist Jamal Khashoggi:

"The chilling report from the Intelligence Community confirms what the world has long known: that Jamal Khashoggi was brutally murdered at the direction of top Saudi officials, including Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. This heinous event is an affront to the rule of law and to the most basic understanding of human rights.

"The United States government must re-evaluate and recalibrate the relationship with Saudi Arabia, given the findings of this report, which are part of a disturbing pattern of human rights abuses from the Kingdom.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the passage of a landmark conservation bill that designates 1.5 million acres of public land as wilderness, protects more than 1.2 million acres of public land from new oil and gas and mining claims and incorporates more than 1,200 river miles into the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System:

"Today is a proud and momentous day, as the House passes the Protecting America's Wilderness and Public Lands Act: one of the most ambitious, impactful and far-reaching conservation bills in our nation's history.
