San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the Trump Administration redacted and declassified a memo authored by House Intelligence Committee Democrats, after weeks of undue delay following the unanimous Committee vote to release the memo:

San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today announced House Democrats’ appointments to the newly-created Joint Select Committee on Solvency and Multiemployer Pensions and Joint Select Committee on Budget Appropriations Process Reform.  Leader Pelosi's appointees reflect the Democratic Caucus’ diversity of backgrounds and expertise, including the fresh vision of three Members who have served for three terms or less.

“Today, the Trump Administration sealed its special interest betrayal of the promise of a free and open Internet.  Consumers will now be hit with higher costs and less choice, while America’s dynamism and entrepreneurship will come under attack.  In their haste to hand massive giveaways to big corporate Internet access providers, Republicans have pushed forward an anti-consumer, anti-competition agenda with devastating consequences for America’s small businesses, families and economy.

Thank you very much all, for your nice welcome.  It’s really kind of an emotional experience for me to be here because I knew George Davis before I was in Congress.  He was one of my dear friends for many, many years.  He was a man always with a vision to make the future better especially for the people in the neighborhood — to meet the needs of people and then spread that beyond.  And we like to say he was visionary, he was visionary with plan to bring strategy to get the job done.  So I know he’s looking down on us now and being so proud of Cathy [Davis] and the work that she has done.  She has brought that plan to fruition.  Thank you, Cathy for your courage and leadership!  Thank you, Cathy!
