Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi today announced that Emily Berret, longtime Director of Operations in the Office of the Speaker, has been named Deputy Chief of Staff, following the departure of Diane Dewhirst. Berret joins Deputy Chiefs of Staff George Kundanis and Drew Hammill in this role.
"Today, with pride, I am pleased to announce that Emily Berret, who has served for nearly a decade in my office, will take on a new role as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Speaker," said Speaker Nancy Pelosi. "Emily is professionalism and public service personified. Her strong institutional knowledge and mastery of Congressional operations will continue to serve this institution and the American people well, as she begins this new position."
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi today announced the appointment of Congressman Adam Kinzinger to serve on the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol.
"On January 6th, insurrectionists attempted to overthrow the government during the worst assault on the Capitol since the War of 1812," said Speaker Nancy Pelosi. "It is imperative that we get to the truth of that day and ensure that such an attack can never again happen. That is why we established the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol, which is bipartisan."
