All Americans are watching the situation in Texas and throughout the heartlands with great sadness.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced her appointment of Dr. Joseph Marshall, Founder and Executive Director of Alive & Free in San Francisco, to serve on the Commission on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys, established by the Congress to study, report on and provide recommendations relating to the conditions affecting Black men and boys.

Today, we celebrate the birthdays of America’s two greatest presidents: George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

“Access to health care is a matter of life-or-death, as our nation has tragically seen during the devastation of the coronavirus pandemic and economic crisis. President Biden’s actions to expand access to health care through the Affordable Care Act will be a lifeline for potentially millions during their time of need, protecting the health and financial security of those who have lost their health insurance through no fault of their own."
