House Judiciary Subcommittee Investigates Politicization at Justice Department's Civil Rights Division(Washington, DC) - Tomorrow, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties will hold an oversight hearing titled,"Changing Tides: Exploring the Current State of Civil Rights Enforcement within the Department of Justice" at 10 a.m. in 2237 Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing will investigate allegations of politicization in the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division - which have led to a decrease in enforcement of civil rights statutes, particularly in the areas of voting and employment.

On Tuesday, March 13, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 242.66 points, its second largest single day decline in four years, because of the subprime mortgage market.
