Washington, D.C. – Today, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi sent a letter to the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Ajit Pai, urging him to delay the decision to dismantle net neutrality until the FCC has held open public hearings across the nation. 

“November’s jobs report reveals that hard-working Americans still aren’t getting the bigger paychecks they deserve.  Even with full control of the House, Senate and White House, Republicans have still failed to deliver on their promise of higher wages for working families.

“We had a productive conversation on a wide variety of issues.  Nothing specific has been agreed to, but discussions continue.

New data reveals the richest 1 percent in America now owns 40 percent of the country's wealth – higher than at any point in the past 50 years. 

“Today, House Republicans voted to deliver an early Christmas gift to the NRA by throwing open the door to violent criminals and abusers carrying concealed weapons wherever they please.  Despite the warnings of many law enforcement organizations, Republicans are steamrolling states’ and cities’ right to protect their communities, forcing them to accept the concealed carry standards of any other state – even those that do not require any permit at all.
