Democrats have been united in fighting back against Republicans' efforts to end the traditional Medicare guarantee. Watch:

Rep. Paul Ryan has led House Republicans in voting to end the Medicare guarantee, which increases costs on seniors in order to give tax breaks to millionaires, Big Oil, and corporations that ship jobs overseas.

In just 3 days, or even 2 days, House Republicans will recess for summer vacation leaving a long list of unfinished business behind. Instead of working with Democrats and President Obama to find solutions for the middle class, House Republicans have kept busy with repeated votes on message bills to nowhere.

The House will soon vote on H.R. 8, a Republican-sponsored measure which would end vital expansions of the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit and ends the American Opportunity Tax Credit (which helps make college more affordable for middle class families).

House Democrats introduced a bill to cut middle class taxes and give one hundred percent of Americans a tax cut. This is the same bill that has already passed the Senate and would be signed into law by President Obama without delay. The only ones standing in the way of the middle class and a tax cut are House Republicans.
