Today, House Democrats, led by Rep. Chris Van Hollen, filed a discharge petition—that has already received over 140 signatures—to bring the DISCLOSE Act back to the floor for a vote.  While the Republican leadership paid lip service to transparency in the past, they refuse to put their floor schedule where their mouths are and allow a vote on this critical legislation.

Instead of working to create jobs, House Republicans just wasted time by voting (again) to take away patient protections millions of Americans are already seeing thanks to the Affordable Care Act:

No lifetime limit on coverage for 105 million Americans.

Up to 17 million children with pre-existing conditions can no longer be denied coverage by insurers.

6.6 million young adults up to age 26 have taken advantage of the law to obtain health insurance through their parents' plan.

Speaker Boehner just told a gaggle of reporters that, from the beginning, the 112^th Congress "wasn't going to be about them [Republicans]" but it has been about listening to the American people.

The American people and small businesses are asking the GOP ‘where are the jobs?' Instead of jobs bills, this week, for the 31st time, the GOP will vote to take away patient protections for Americans – the same protections enjoyed by Members of Congress.

The House Democratic Leader's press office released this new video, "GOP Wasting Time on A Message Vote to Nowhere," using Speaker Boehner's own "Where are the Jobs?" to highlight the GOP's continued pursuit of a political agenda, voting to repeal patients' rights, instead of focusing on jobs:

Americans are looking for jobs, and Republicans are looking to score cheap political points with message bills to nowhere.  The American people deserve better.

Instead of working with Democrats to create jobs and strengthen the middle class, House Republicans are looking towards Election Day with tunnel vision and coordinating with former Governor Mitt Romney to repeal patients' rights and give more tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans.

Today, the Department of Labor announced that the economy added 80,000 jobs in June and the unemployment rate remained at 8.2 percent. With private businesses adding 84,000 jobs, this marks the 28th consecutive month of private sector job growth:

Next week, House Republicans will not vote on jobs legislation. The GOP will once again waste limited floor time on yet another vote to repeal patients' rights and benefits. The latest poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation shows this isn't what the American people want:
