The facts are clear: This is a Republican Do Nothing Congress; a year of missed opportunities and made-up crises. For 351 days, Republicans have failed to offer a jobs agenda and are now blocking a bipartisan Senate compromise to stop a tax hike on 160 million Americans on January 1.
Despite calls for a bipartisan compromise from across the Capitol and the country, House Republicans continue to insist on a tax hike for the middle class. With just days left until the payroll tax cut expires, House Republicans refuse to even hold an up or down vote on the bipartisan legislation that passed the Senate—legislation that Speaker Boehner himself called a "good deal" on Saturday:
An immediate tax increase on 160 million Americans that would total $1,000 for the average American working family over 2012.
