While today marks the start of the second session of the 112th Congress, it doesn't look like House Republicans learned their lesson from a year in the Majority ignoring America's top priority: job creation.

Instead of focusing on jobs this week, the GOP is voting on a resolution trying to force America to default on its debt and would destroy jobs—even though Republican Members acknowledge it is nothing more than a waste of time:

He led a movement and changed a nation; he fought for freedom and summoned a people to live up to our highest ideals. When Dr. King spoke, Americans did not simply listen – many were inspired to act, to march, to demonstrate and sit in and struggle for equality.

It is an extraordinary tribute to Dr. King's life and work that our nation now honors him among our greatest leaders and heroes with a memorial on the National Mall.
