Okay, it's getting embarrassing. First, Freshman Republicans sent a letter to President Obama acknowledging they couldn't take the heat over their vote to end Medicare as we know it. Then, they held a press conference to make sure everyone was in the know. Now, Senate Republicans are following suit and complaining directly to the White House.

Last month, Speaker Boehner said he was open to ending taxpayer subsidies for Big Oil saying "they ought to be paying their fair share." Today, he said rolling back the billions in taxpayer dollars Big Oil is siphoning away from our effort to reduce the deficit should only happen if Big Oil gets a huge tax cut.

This afternoon, Ways and Means Committee Republicans passed legislation to end this year's federal guarantee for extended unemployment benefits--threatening unemployment insurance benefits for 4.1 million out-of-work Americans and breaking the negotiated deal they voted for last December when Republicans demanded extending tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans in exchange for extending unemployment benefits.

This month, House Republicans are bringing a series of 'drill only' bills to the House floor that offer no relief for taxpayers or consumers and are instead a gift to Big Oil–which is already raking in nearly $36 billion in profits and having its best year since 2008.
