Health insurance reform opponents continue to spread myths about America's Affordable Health Choices Act. Republicans, in particular, are showing a recent convert's zeal for reducing the deficit by claiming we cannot afford health insurance reform now because of the size of the federal deficit.

This morning, the Department of Labor released unemployment numbers for August showing that 216,000 jobs were lost last month - the fewest jobs lost in a year:

Rising health costs are hitting seniors' wallets--with the average Medicare Part D plus Part B premium consuming an estimated 12% of the average Social Security benefit in 2010--and 16% by 2025.
