Health insurance reform opponents continue to spread myths about components of America's Affordable Health Choices Act. Yesterday, House Republican Leader Boehner issued a "GOP Leader Alert" claiming that the House Democrats' reform bill is "loaded up with special-interest giveaways" -- designed to be "a boon to unions, trial lawyers, and even ACORN."

These GOP claims of "special-interest giveaways" raise the GOP campaign of misinformation and distortion about this bill to a whole new level of absurdity.

“Congress tightened the Bush Administration's TARP financial rescue plan last year by insisting that taxpayers be protected and that financial institutions reimburse the American people first. Today, these requirements are paying dividends..."

Health insurance reform opponents continue to spread myths about components of America's Affordable Health Choices Act. They are trying to scare seniors again, this time about the cost of prescription drugs. But the facts--and independent auditors--disprove this myth.

Myth: The House bill will force seniors to pay more for their prescription drugs.

Despite all the myths and the misinformation, a new poll demonstrates that Americans continue to demand health insurance reform and the improvements - such as a public health insurance option, cutting waste and excessive profits from Medicare, and ensuring coverage if you get sick or have been sick - that are essential provisions of America's Affordable Health Choices Act.

The poll on attitudes toward health care reform found:
