The American Medical Association (AMA) announced their support for the America's Affordable Health Choices Act saying the legislation will curb out-of-control costs, encourage competition among insurance plans to improve choices for patients, and provide access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans. In a letter, AMA Executive Vice President and CEO Michael D. Maves, MD, wrote:
