Washington, D.C. – Nancy Pelosi released this statement following a report that 3.2 million more Americans were uninsured at the end of 2017 than when President Trump took office, marking the first time that the share of uninsured Americans increased since 2008:

"Today's report is a sobering reminder of the damaging consequences of President Trump's cynical efforts to sabotage Americans' health care.  Over the past year, the Trump Administration has spitefully tried to undermine the Affordable Care Act by eviscerating funding for ACA open enrollment advertising, deliberately creating massive confusion around ACA enrollment availability and making constant threats to cut off key ACA payments.  Together, these efforts have pushed the number of uninsured Americans up for the first time in a decade.
