Keeping America safe – and defending the security of our friends and allies – transcends politics. This bipartisan resolution reaffirms America’s commitment to the common defense pledge that underpins our global security and sends a strong signal of support to our NATO partners, many of whom face the threat of Russian aggression.

Today, we pause to reflect on the extraordinary situation facing the millions of men, women and children forced from their homes each year by conflict, violence, persecution, environmental disasters and other catastrophes. We celebrate their courage and resilience, honor those who have come to their aid and pledge to do our part to stand up to the evils that have caused them to flee.

The emoluments clause of the Constitution requires that the President serve the good of the American people, not the corrupting promise of money from foreign governments. President Trump’s refusal to seek Congressional approval for – or even disclose – his vast international financial interests is a violation of the Constitution and a threat to the integrity of our democracy itself.

Today, House Democratic Leaders and Ranking Members sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and White House Counsel Don McGahn urging them reverse their policy that instructs federal agencies in the Trump Administration to ignore oversight requests from Members of Congress.

Trumpcare’s assault on seniors and working families is indefensible and Republicans on both sides of the Capitol know it. In the House, Republicans raced to pass Trumpcare before the CBO could expose its staggering consequences. Now in the Senate, Republicans are once again racing toward a vote on a secret bill to blindside the American people.

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi sent a letter to Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Ajit Pai opposing the FCC’s proposal to reclassify broadband as a service under Title I of the Communications Act. Leader Pelosi also requested a public hearing in San Francisco on the FCC’s harmful plan to dismantle consumer protections on the internet.

Almost five months into the Trump Administration, House Republicans still haven’t met their most basic responsibility to pass a budget. The House GOP is now months behind the statutory budget deadline, deeply divided but unwilling to abandon their budget giveaways to the richest few.
