On Memorial Day

On this Memorial Day, we remember those brave Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and security of our nation, and take great pride in the service of our men and women in uniform, and thank them with deeds, not just words.

In the first five months of this year, the New Direction Congress accomplished a great deal for our men and women in uniform and for our veterans, building on what we did last Congress.

Many of us met last week with Veterans Affairs Secretary Shinseki to take pride in our bipartisan accomplishments, and to plan for what we must do next.
