Yesterday, we had a great celebration at the White House for the passage – and the President signing earlier – the Inflation Reduction Act. It lowers costs for families. It's so exciting. It's historic. There has never been anything like it to pass this Con – Congress, or any country in the world, to preserve our planet For The Children.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering & Policy Committee has recommended that Congressman Joseph Morelle serve on the House Committee on Appropriations, that Congresswoman Mary Peltola serve on the House Committee on Natural Resources and that Congressman Pat Ryan serve on the House Armed Services Committee.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the new extreme national abortion ban proposed today by MAGA Republican Senator Lindsey Graham:

"The nationwide abortion ban proposal put forth today is the latest, clearest signal of extreme MAGA Republicans' intent to criminalize women's health freedom in all 50 states and arrest doctors for providing basic care. Make no mistake: if Republicans get the chance, they will work to pass laws even more draconian than this bill – just like the bans they have enacted in states like Texas, Mississippi and Oklahoma.

"For 28 years, the Violence Against Women Act has stood as a pillar of justice and safety.
