Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the Trump Administration's new rule to block home health care workers from directing their own wages to support their union:
"This rule is a brazen assault on workers' freedom to negotiate better wages, working conditions and futures, targeting the livelihoods of the selfless men and women who provide care to those in great need, including seniors and veterans. Workers now face a grim future of lower wages, weakened workplace rights and choked off access to benefits – as the health of the millions who rely on them for compassionate care is thrown into jeopardy.

Well, yesterday was quite a day. I really lost sleep last night after watching over and over again the testimony of the Attorney General of the United States. How sad it is – how sad it is for us to see the top law enforcement officer in our country misrepresenting, withholding the truth from the Congress of the United States.
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi delivered remarks on the Floor of the House of Representatives in support of H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act, a bill to protect our planet and our future by keeping us in the Paris Agreement, demanding a real plan from the Administration and laying the foundation for further innovative, effective action from the Congress. "On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we mark one of the darkest chapters in human history. Less than a century ago, the world witnessed the systematic extermination of six million Jews and millions more who were killed simply because of who they were and what they believed. The memory of this unfathomable horror continues to stand as a lasting reminder to heed the lessons of the past and honor our responsibility to never forget or stand idly by while others suffer.

Two years ago this weekend, May 4, 2016, House Republicans joined President Trump in the Rose Garden to celebrate the House passage of Trumpcare: legislation that would have gutted protections for people with pre-existing conditions, pushed 23 million Americans off health coverage, imposed an age tax on the health coverage of older Americans and more.
Tonight, the Trump Administration is returning to that same monstrous campaign – asking the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to destroy protections for people with pre-existing conditions and strike down every protection and benefit the Affordable Care Act provides.
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after the Department of Justice filed its brief in Texas v. United States, asking the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to strike down the entirety of the Affordable Care Act. The House has voted on three occasions to oppose the suit, while House Republicans have voted overwhelmingly in support of the Trump Administration's assault on health care.
"Two years ago this weekend, House Republicans gathered in the Rose Garden to congratulate themselves for voting to gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions and take away millions of families' health care. Today, the Trump Administration is continuing Republicans' monstrous campaign to destroy pre-existing condition protections and Americans' access to affordable health care.

"Female genital mutilation is an extreme form of gender-based violence that poses a grave public health risk. That 200 million women and girls worldwide have been subjected to this horrific act is a challenge to the conscience of the world.
