San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement marking one year since President Trump repealed the Clean Power Plan, a landmark Obama-era initiative to address the global climate crisis:

The GOP’s decision to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court has wounded the very soul of justice in our country. 

“Today is a profoundly heart-breaking day for women, girls and families across America.

"Beneath the September jobs numbers, middle class families across America are struggling to keep their heads above the rising costs of health care, prescription drugs, and everyday living expenses.

“President Leslie Wong’s tenure at San Francisco State University has been marked by a relentless commitment to inclusion, equality and progress in our higher education system.  He has been an outstanding champion for all students, particularly under-served communities and veterans, honoring our city’s belief that ‘the beauty is in the mix.’
