Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee has recommended to the Democratic Caucus that Congressman Jimmy Gomez of California be appointed to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the House Committee on Natural Resources. The full Democratic Caucus is expected to consider the nominations tomorrow.

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi joined House Democrats to highlight House Republicans’ failure to investigate and conduct oversight of President Trump and his administration. The Leader and House Democrats announced an effort to force votes to get answers for the American people on Trump and his family’s ties to Russia, countless conflicts of interests and possible collusion with the Russian government to undermine the U.S. election system. Two years ago, the United States joined our P5+1 allies to conclude the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action: a landmark agreement that has prevented Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and made the American people and our allies safer. Thanks to the leadership of President Obama and the tireless work of scientists, diplomats, military leaders and other heads of state from all over the globe, the imminent and catastrophic threat of a nuclear-armed Iran was taken off the table – all without a shot fired.

Congressman Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, delivered the Weekly Democratic Address. In this week’s address, Thompson highlighted the need to get to the bottom of Russian interference in U.S. elections and highlighted the launch of the Congressional Task Force on Election Security to determine how to protect our nation’s election system in the future.
