Dear Colleague,

The Congress, our country and the world remain in awe of the Ukrainian people, who have demonstrated unimaginable courage in the face of Russia's unthinkable atrocities. As we honor their heroism with security, economic and humanitarian assistance, the Congress is grateful for the privilege given to us by the Ukrainian government to pay tribute to the valor of the Ukrainian people and remember their suffering here in our hallowed halls.

In collaboration with the Ukrainian Embassy, starting on April 28th, the United States Capitol will host a photo exhibit on the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Washington, D.C. — Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the evacuation of the United States Capitol due to the Federal Aviation Administration's apparent failure to notify U.S. Capitol Police of pre-planned activities:

San Francisco – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the passing of former Congressman Brad Ashford of Nebraska:

Spring has sprung, ushering in the season of reflection, renewal and resilience. As we mark the glory of Easter, Passover and Ramadan, we do so with particular solemnity in the face of tragedy and suffering in our nation and the world.

Our nation will soon mark one million lives lost to the COVID-19 pandemic: a heart-wrenching, once-unthinkable milestone. Congress and the Country mourn with every family who has lost a loved one and feels this pain more sharply right now, with an empty chair at a holiday meal or an absent voice in a holiday prayer.

"Laguna Honda has long been a pillar of the health and well-being for generations of San Francisco families. At this very moment, this indispensable institution is ensuring that hundreds of patients with critical and complex medical and behavioral health conditions can get care they need, regardless of their financial means. And during the pandemic, the dedicated staff of the hospital has been outstanding in controlling outbreaks and keeping its vulnerable patients safe from the virus.

"Families across the nation will greatly benefit from President Biden's patriotic new action to bring down prices at the pump by propelling the development of homegrown ethanol. Doing so will reduce our nation's dependence on foreign oil and empower America's farmers to help fight Putin's Price Hike. Now, Big Oil must join us in this effort by adding Unleaded 88 to more pumps and gas stations, rather than put their profits above the American people.
