Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after President Biden requested $33 billion in supplemental funding for aid to Ukraine:
"President Biden's strong, values-based request for more security, economic and humanitarian aid to Ukraine reflects what is needed to help them defend not only their nation, but democracy itself. When the House takes up this request, we look forward to a strong, bipartisan vote.
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi sent the following letter on behalf of the bipartisan Congressional leadership to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis inviting him to address a Joint Meeting of Congress on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. ET.
In the letter, the Speaker wrote: "As our world faces a pivotal moment in the fight between the forces of democracy and autocracy, the transatlantic alliance remains vital to the future of freedom in the world. The Congress and our Country look forward to hearing your message of democratic values as we continue to strengthen our partnership, bolster security and freedom worldwide, and build a brighter future for our children."

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that Joseph C. Picolla will serve as the next Inspector General of the United States House of Representatives. Picolla currently serves as Deputy Inspector General of the House and has served in the Office of the Inspector General of the House since 2008. Before starting on Capitol Hill, Picolla spent twenty years in the private sector serving in various risk management, technology and operation roles.

"Today, the world solemnly marks 107 years since the Ottoman Empire began an inhuman campaign of mass murder and devastation: a genocide that stole the lives of 1.5 million Armenian men, women and children.
